How to cancel Apple Music— and check you're not still being charged
Apple Music often overlaps with Spotify or YouTube Music on the same household's cards.
Steps to cancel Apple Music
- 1Go to music.apple.com
- 2Choose Sign In at the top of the page
- 3Tap or click the My Account icon
- 4Choose Settings
- 5Scroll to Subscriptions and choose Manage
- 6Choose Cancel Subscription
- 7On iPhone or iPad instead: open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap the subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription

Apple Music is one of the few Apple subscriptions that can be billed by Google rather than Apple: if you signed up on Android through Google Play, music.apple.com will not offer a cancel option and you have to cancel in the Apple Music app on the Android device or at play.google.com. If there is no Cancel button at all, or you see an expiration message in red text, it is already cancelled — and if a family member's Apple Account is on the receipt, you cannot cancel it for them.
Will Apple Music still charge you after you cancel?
Once the subscription expires you can no longer play anything from the Apple Music catalog, any playlists added from or built out of catalog tracks disappear, and Sync Library switches off. Music and playlists you already had on the device before subscribing stay put.
Refunds: No automatic refund or proration — access simply runs to the end of the paid period; you can request a discretionary refund at reportaproblem.apple.com under "I'd like to" then "Request a refund", which Apple approves case by case.
Apple Music usually posts as APPLE.COM/BILL — which is why it can be hard to recognise when you're scanning a statement for things to cut.
