How to cancel iCloud+— and check you're not still being charged
iCloud+ storage upgrades are small enough to ignore but add up across a family's devices.
Steps to cancel iCloud+
- 1On iPhone or iPad running iOS 18.4 or later, open the Settings app and tap your name.
- 2Tap Subscriptions, then tap iCloud+ under Active.
- 3Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the onscreen instructions.
- 4On iOS 17 or earlier, instead tap iCloud, tap Manage Account Storage, tap Downgrade Options, enter your Apple Account password, select the free 5GB plan, then tap Done.
- 5On a Mac, choose Apple menu, click System Settings, click Apple Account, click iCloud, click Manage Plan under iCloud+ Features, then click Cancel Subscription (on macOS Sonoma or earlier, click Manage, click Change Storage Plan, click Downgrade Options, then pick the free 5GB plan).
- 6With no Apple device at all, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose "I'd like to," choose "Request a refund," pick a reason, choose the most recent iCloud+ charge, then choose Submit.

If your storage came through Apple One, there is no separate iCloud+ charge to stop — the plan is part of that bundle, so you have to cancel Apple One instead, and Apple's own page notes there may be extra steps after Change Storage Plan before you can downgrade. Apple also groups multiple purchases and subscriptions into one apple.com/bill line, so the amount on your statement may not match the iCloud+ price you are trying to kill.
Will iCloud+ still charge you after you cancel?
The change takes effect after your current billing period ends, and you fall back to the free 5 GB iCloud plan. Nothing is deleted right away, but if your data exceeds 5 GB, iCloud stops syncing and iCloud backups will not complete until you free up space, and you lose iCloud+ features such as Hide My Email, Private Relay, Apple Invites, and HomeKit Secure Video.
Refunds: Apple gives partial refunds only where required by law, and says that if you recently changed your iCloud+ plan you should contact Apple within 14 days to request a refund via reportaproblem.apple.com.
iCloud+ usually posts as APPLE.COM/BILL — which is why it can be hard to recognise when you're scanning a statement for things to cut.
